In a digital project, once the strategy and design of interaction with the user have been defined, the common procedure is to go further to the prototyping stage. In this stage, models from those parts that should be validated ‒surfing, main flow, visibility of certain functionality‒ are built in.

The goal of the prototype is to create a facade from this future experience, which will be helpful to detect mistakes, validate a hypothesis or explain the flows, among others.

Depending on what you want to validate, it will be more convenient to choose one tool or another.  Fortunately, there are lots of specific prototype programs available that we may choose.

In this course, we will review the most popular tools, and learn the fundamentals. We work on the prototype creation from the screen designs to transform them into almost-real digital products.

  • To understand the goal of prototyping interfaces and its different fidelities.
  • To learn to use the most used tools in the market through practical cases.
  • Delimitating what should be prototyped.
  • Preparing the designs for the use in the prototyping tools.
  • Creating interactive prototyping based on his/her designs.
  • Handling prototyping tools of different fidelities.
  • Visualizing the prototyping in the smartphones.

Structure and Contents

The course is structured into five modules that offer the practical concepts for creating digital prototypes:

  1. Introduction to interfaces prototype.
  2. UI design with Skecth and its extensions.
  3. Prototype based on InVision screens.
  4. Prototype based on layers. Animations and micro-interactions.
  5. High fidelity prototype with Origami.
